Deed - Extension of
Rose Street to, Riverside Drive
You will recall that several months ago I wrote to you
statinthat my Wife and. I were viilling to Deed. to the City of

South Rend a, stria of land 6o :rt. W:Ld-e appi-ox:Lmextely l5o_ft._ In
length, free of charge so that Rose Street could be extended to
the river (Rivei-side Drive).
I never received a re -ply from your office but about a
month ago received letter dated, November lst from the City
Engineer's Office, '11.r. AndryslAk, 1, indicating the riatter had been
referred'. to their attention ant, at the same time they sent a Quit
Claim Deed for the parcel of land required for the extension of
Rose Street.
I find that the general descrii)tion shown in the outline
of the Deed- submitted by the City did not conform with the
description as shown on the/original Conveyance Deed to us some
30 years ago. Therefore, I took this matter up with the Abstract
ana Title Company who were in course of preparing an Abstract
coverino, the full area and. they have indicatee, that the description

shown on the Deed that you submitted, for our signature does properly
describe the property in question.
MY WA-fe and. I have therefore, executed this Deed and are
aenaLlng It to You for &oknowledgment. I further note that while
we stated that we would di
ve this property free to the City, you
have Placed therein that it is being sold for consideration of
`,�1.00 and other valuable consideration". You should- probably
send to me a check for 0?'1.00 in order to legally comply with the
terms therein.
It is further understood altho you have not incorporated
it in the Teed, that You Would- promptly stake the street and that
when graded. you will let rile have for fill-in purposes any of the
excees earth that was obtained to go on some low s-nots on land

a couple of hundred feet north.
Please acknowledge this so that I have definite assurance
that it will be taken care of.
