At its March 12, 2024 meeting, the Board of Public Works approved the above
referenced Change Order be increased by $60,313, bringing the revised contract amount to
$3,942,753.37.

Fire Station #8 Replacement

Change Order No. 3 for the subject project addresses the following items:
• Fire Dampers: $1,870.00
o This is an omission from the Plans. Additional fire dampers are needed in the
electrical room.
• Station Signage: $6,621.00
o This is an owner-initiated scope change to finalize the decorative sign at the
station.
• Porch Concrete: $5,551.00
o This is an owner-initiated scope change to slightly expand the front patio area to
appear more inviting to the neighborhood.
• Mechanical Changes: $6,326.00
o This is an omission from the Plans. Additional exhaust infrastructure is required
for the dryers.
• Locution Installation Labor: $26,318.00
o This is an owner-initiated scope change to install the emergency alert system at
the station. At the time of bid, Locution had not provided the information
necessary for the Contractor to price out the required work. Locution is the sole-
source provider of this service, integrating with the County-wide emergency alert
dispatch system.
• HVAC Duct Changes: $7,093.00
o This is an omission from the Plans. Ductwork was missing from plan sheets and
required rerouting to fit with other systems.
• Added Fiber Conduit: $3,542.00
o Field conditions were different from the site plan, resulting in additional conduit
work required for hookup.

• Drywall Ceiling Changes: $2,992.00
o Changes to the ceiling were required due to the HVAC Duct Changes.
• TOTAL: $60,313.00
This change order does not affect the existing contract completion date of September 19, 2024.
Funding for this change order is available through the Fire Department’s capital fund.
