a. Southhold Preservation Awards Nominations

Nomination Presentation with information on award nominees was presented
by: Adam Toering
ii. Award Winner Selection
After viewing the Nomination Presentation, Commissioners considered the
nominees and cast their votes for the Southhold Preservation Awards
2023. Commissioner votes were tallied by Adam Toering and Kathryn
Hough. (Audio and recording started during
the talling process, at about 6:40 pm)
Award recipients were finalized based on tallied votes, there was one
category ("Adaptive Reuse" between The Lauber at 504 E LaSalle Ave
and Firehouse No. 6 at 701 Portage Ave) that required a tiebreaker.

Award recipients were revealed to the Commission. (Audio Position: 19:12)

Historic Preservation: Residential — 1031 E Jefferson Blvd
Historic Restoration: Commercial — 1215 E Mishawaka Ave
Historic Restoration: Residential — 1172 Lincoln Way East

Upon a motion by Elizabeth Hertel, seconded by Andrew Jones, and
UNANIMOUSLY carried by vote, the minutes from the October 16, 2023
Historic Preservation Commission are approved.

VIII- ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS
a. TradeWorks Annual Fundraiser Event 2023 (November 16, 2023)
i. Featured: presentation of Southhold Preservation Awards to award recipients
Sarah Andrews announced the TradeWorks Annual Fundraiser, inviting
attendance for the featured event of presenting the Historic Preservation
Commission's Southhold Preservations Awards to the 2023 award
recipients. (Audio Position: 21:14)
Further discussion led by Kathryn Hough regarding review of Commissioner
"Standards of Professional Conduct," as established under the
Commission's by-laws as well as consideration for making a
determination as to whether to approve or deny an application for a
Certificate of Appropriateness as established under the City of South
Bend Zoning Ordinance. (Audio Position: 22:08)
