Dear President Beck:
219/284 -9483
Enclosed you will find an ordinance appropriating
$1,600,000.00 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund to complete
the City's financial obligations to the Police and Fire Pensions
for 1984. This ordinance will be filed for first reading at the
October 22nd Council meeting. It is anticipated that 2nd read-
ing will take place at the first Council meeting in November.
The ordinance is proposed at a figure of $1,600,000.00. The
actual figure will be substituted on the floor the night of
public hearing in this matter. If you will recall, the City had
proposed using revenue sharing to supplement pension funds in
the presentation of the 1984 Civil City Budget. I have waited
until the last part of the year to actually appropriate those
funds so that exact figures may be used as far as actual monies
needed. If you have any further questions, please feel free to
contact my office in this matter.
Sincerely, l
Michael L. Vance
