AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE SURPLUS
BARRETT LAW ACCOUNT TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The City of South Bend, having established a General
Improvement Fund under I.C. 36 -9 -17, finds that it has money in the
Surplus Barrett Law Account for which no obligations or potential
obligations exist, which arise out of the operation of the Barrett
Law, for which the surplus Barrett Law money was accumulated or may
be used. Notice of intention to transfer Surplus Barrett Law Account
money to the General Fund has been published in accordance with I.C.
5 -3 -1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the
City of South Bend, as follows:
SECTION I. The South Bend Common Council finds that it has
money in the Surplus Barrett Law Account for which there are no
obligations or potential obligations arising out of the operation of
the Barrett Law for which the surplus Barrett Law account money was
accumulated or may be used.
SECTION II. The following accounts shall be decreased and
increased in the lowing amounts:
Decrease:
Surplus Barrett Law Account $211,675.20
Total Decrease $211,675.20
Increase:
General Fund $211,675.20
Total Increase $211,675.20
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval
by the Mayor.
