A SPECIAL PROCLAMATION AWARDED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL TO
CELEBRATE THE DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT OF HENRY DAVIS,JR. TO THE CITY.
Of‘reaeS, Henry Davis, Jr. is a native son of South Bend where his family has lived for over 70 years.

G� e, 6, Henry is a 1997 graduate of Lasalle High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in
Fine Arts degree from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and a Master of Business Administration degree
from Bethel University and is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity; and
Weitfaij Henry was first elected to the South Bend Common Council in n 2007, at the age of 25,
serving two terms before running for mayor in 2015; and
Warms, Henry returned to the Common Council by winning a third term in 2019; and
4 , Henry has served in many capacities in the community such as the President of the Lasalle,
Park Neighborhood Alliance and the South Bend-IDAAC; and
( ere iG, Henry has similarly served in many capacities with the Common Council such as Chairperson
of the Utilities Committee, Vice-Chairperson of the Zoning and Annexation Committee, and Vice-Chairperson
of the Community Investment Committee; and
)fro, Henry is perhaps best known for his zealous advocacy for his 2nd district constituents.

Section I. On behalf of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Members of the South
Bend Common Council, I am pleased to officially recognize and honor Henry Davis, Jr. for his dedication and
work on behalf of the residents of South Bend.
Section II. We look forward to your continued involvement and leadership in the City through your
continued advocacy for the west side in whatever other position you may choose in the next phase of your
community involvement.
