A SPECIAL PROCLAMATION AWARDED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL TO
CELEBRATE THE DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT OF LORI HAMANN TO THE CITY.
Gl1ie,ra6, Lori Hamann came to South Bend after being born and raised in Michigan; and
41(4,1104 Lori is a 1986 graduate of Western Michigan University with dual majors in Economics and
Political Science; and
41areaG, Lori and her family moved to South Bend in 1996; and
in 2003, Lori was accepted in the ACE Program at Notre Dame and graduated in 2005 with a
Master of Education degree; and
60(ereaes, Lori made use of her degrees by first teaching at St. Adalbert School, and then at Marian High
School; and
G�'�rerle, Lori was elected to the South Bend Common Council as an At-Large member in 2019; and
lfs Lori served the Council and South Bend citizens in many capacities including Chairperson of
the Zoning and Annexation Committee, Vice Chairperson of the Community Relations Committee, Vice
Chairperson of the Information and Technology Committee, Vice Chairperson of the Public Works and Property
Vacation Committee; and
11‘stivaij perhaps Lori is best known for her tireless advocacy for South Bend's homeless population and
other vulnerable groups.

Section I. On behalf of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Members of the South
Bend Common Council,I am pleased to officially recognize and honor Lori Hamann. for her dedication and work
on behalf of the residents of South Bend.
Section II. We look forward to your continued involvement and leadership in the City through your
continued advocacy for the most vulnerable residents in South Bend in whatever other position you may choose
in the next phase of your community involvement.
