AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $27,993.00 AMONG
VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE DIVISION OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The City of South Bend through the Division of Community
Development received supplemental funding under Public Law 98-8 commonly known
as the Jobs Bill. In keeping with the intent of the Jobs Bill funds, transfers
are required in order to utilize the funds in a timely and eligible manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $27,993.00 is hereby transferred among
the accounts as set forth below:
Reduce the following accounts:

JB83-808 Youth Service Bureau Rehab $ 53.00
JB83-803 Rehab of Public Housing Units 3,000.00
JB83-904 Studebaker Corridor 13,721.00
JB83-1100 General Administration 11,000.00

Dear Council Member:
The bill submitted for your consideration would transfer Jobs
Bill funds from completed activities to two activities to be
completed yet. All projects funded through Jobs Bill monies will
be complete on 7/31/85 with the exception of handicapped access
curb cuts.
As proposed to the Council previously, remaining funds will be
utilized for additional handicapped access curb cuts and
completed this year. The additional money proposed for the
paint-up program will allow work in progress to be completed by
7 /31/85 . This will utilize all of the remaining Jobs Bill funds
and the program will be closed out.
