GAMMON Approved and signed by me ■ _„) 19 I ft,/ 71-1__ Mayor ORDINANCE NO. ).$'U -gy- AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $231, 112.00 FROM THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND TO FACILITATE EXPANSION AND UPGRADING OF SERVICES AT THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of Managers . The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it would be expedient and in the public interest to undertake expansion of the Morris Civic Auditorium into a portion of the Palais Royale building, which has been leased by the Board of Public Works for that purpose . Money is available in the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund. Money is required for a grant to Southold Heritage Foundation, Inc. , to facilitate financing for construction in the Morris leased space in the Palais Royale building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I. The amount of $231,112. 00 is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund for a contract and grant to Southold Heritage Foundation, Inc . , for construction financing for remodeling portions of the Palais Royale to upgrade services at the Morris Civic Auditorium. All funds repaid to the City by Southold Heritage shall be placed in the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund and shall be used only for purposes permitted therefor. SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. ember of the .s mon Council JUL 17 1985 r k t `" !A i!;. .�..�:�a�:3rod}7 U L ntury rater DATE: July 16, 1985 TO: Members of the South Bend City Council SUBJECT: On Ordinance appropriating $231,112.00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund to facilitate expansion and up- grading of services at the Morris Civic Auditorium Because it is important to provide convenient access to restrooms and certain seating areas for the handicapped, to provide better box office services, and more space for increased activities at the Morris Civic Auditorium, it is requested that the Council approve this ordinance. Funding for these improvements has come from contributions from the community. All funds paid to the City by Southold Heritage Foundation, Inc. will be paid back into the Morris Auditorium Improvement Fund. Thank you for your attention. Sincer , Brian R.
