AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $4, 100.00 FROM THE
MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
REPAIR OF THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM ROOF AND FOR
PAINT FOR THE DRESSING ROOMS AND PUBLIC RESTROOMS
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of
Managers .
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it
is necessary for the maintenance of the Morris Civic Auditorium that
roof repairs be undertaken prior to the onset of winter weather. The
Board of Managers has further determined that it is necessary to
maintain the aesthetic appearance of the dressing rooms and public
restrooms. An estimated cost of the repair of the roof and purchase of
paints and materials, anticipating the use of volunteer labor for the
application of the paint, to be $4, 100.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The amount of $4, 100.00 is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement
Fund for repair of the roof of the Morris Civic Auditorium and for the
purchase of paint and materials for application to the walls of the
dressing rooms and public restrooms at the Morris Civic Auditorium.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Dear Councilmen and Councilwomen:
In order to protect the Auditorium from further water damage and to make
the appearance of the dressing rooms more acceptable it is requested
by the Board of Managers that you approve the subject ordinance.
The cost of the roof repair is $3,500.00 and that of the purchase of
paint only is $600.00; the total cost of these projects is $4,100.00 and
would be funded from the Morris Auditorium Improvement account.
