Dear Beverlie:
The enclosed ordinance is being filed for first reading
at the November 18, 1985 Council meeting. The ordinance
appropriates $16 ,000 from the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund
as the City' s portion of cost associated with the county-
wide centralized communications system study.
As you are aware, the City has moved ahead with this
proposed system at its own expense and has, in the past,
offered the advantages of that system to both Mishawaka and
St. Joseph County. Additionally, specifications have been
prepared and the City of South Bend is now looking at computer-
aided dispatch for paramedic services, fire calls and police
services.
