STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana incurred extraordinary expenses for snow removal and towing fees during the 1985 snow storm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: SECTION I. That the sum of $120 , 000 is hereby appropriated for the year 1985 from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund of the City of South Bend as described below: 399 . 0 Other Contractuals $120 , 000. 00 SECTION II. The funds will be used to offset expenditures resulting from the bad snow storms in early 1985 . Because of the recent funding changes the money is available through the Motor Vehicle Highway funding mechanism. Your favorable consideration is requested.
