AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $14,600 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL
REVENUE SHARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING EXPENSES
ASSOCIATED WITH THE REPAIR OF THE MORRIS CIVIC THEATRE.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes that repairs to the Morris
Civic Theatre are necessary for continued operations; and
WHEREAS, a matching appropriation from the Hotel/Motel Tax Board will
help defray the expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $14,500 is hereby appropriated from the
General Revenue Sharing Fund for the repair of the Morris Civic Theatre.
This appropriation is to be administered by the Department of
Administration and Finance as set forth below:

SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor.

Dear President Beck:
The enclosed ordinance filed for first reading of the November
18, 1985 Council meeting will appropriate $14, 600 from the General
Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation plus a matching
amount from the Hotel/Motel Tax Board will defray those expenses
associated with the repairing of the Morris Civic Theatre as has been
completed for the Return of Rockne open house and the opening of the
off broadway play as took place in October of this year.
The Hotel/Motel Tax Board has approved its one half share of
the project and those funds are currently before the County Council
for hearing.
