AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $133,301
FROM THE CENTURY CENTER OPERATING FUND FOR
REMODELING, REPAIRS AND RENNOVATION OF CENTURY
CENTER.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana received the sum of
$150 , 000 from Service America at the time of the catering contract
award for the purpose of remodeling the Service America Offices at
Century Center, repair of the chiller air conditioning system at
Century Center, updating and repair of the kitchen facilities, and
remodeling of river level suites 1 through 3 and the green room; and
WHEREAS, construction and remodeling of the aforementioned
items is necessary in 1985.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $133, 301 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1985 from the Century Center Board of Managers Operating
Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana as described below:

SECTION II . This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approved
by the Mayor.

Dear President Beck:
The enclosed ordinance to be heard at first reading on
November 18, 1985 would appropriate $133 , 301 to the 1985 Century
Center operating budget.
The monies are part of the $150 , 000 received from Service
America at the time of the catering contract award. The monies have
been expended for the remodeling of the Service America Offices at
Century Center, repair of the chiller air conditioning system at
Century Center, updating and repair of the kitchen facilities, and
the remodeling of river level suites 1 through 3 and the green room.
The work has been completed with the exception of the remodeling of
river level suite 1 through 3 and the green room. This is expected
to be completed shortly after the first of the year.
