SUBJECT: COUNCILWOMAN WHITE SPEAKS TO THE TRAGEDIES IN BEACON
HEIGHTS
My fellow residents,
I am deeply troubled by the recent violence and loss of life in Beacon Heights. This community
faces real challenges but remains strong.
We cannot accept violence as normal. By listening to those affected and addressing urgent needs
around jobs, healthcare, and safety, we can interrupt harm.
In my role, I am committed to uplifting your voices and advocating for you. Your lived
experiences must inform the path forward. Working together, we can rebuild trust and restore
hope.
For the youth here, please know you are valued. We believe in you and will keep working to
provide the support you deserve.
Though darkness comes, light still shines within us all. Stay united - we will get through this
difficult time by lifting each other up."
