Committee Members Present: Sheila Niezgodski,Troy Warner,Eli Wax,Rachel Tomas Morgan, Canneth Lee Committee Members Absent: N/A Other Council Present: Lori Hamann, Karen White, Sharon McBride Others Present: Dawn Jones, Bob Palmer Presenters: Kyle Willis City Controller Agenda: Bill No. 23-24—A Resolution for Professional Sports Convention Development(PSCD)Tax Area Expansion The full recording of the committee meetings can be found at the following link: https://docs.southbendin.goviWebLink/O/fol/349067/Rowl.aspx Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Personnel and Finance Committee; Niezgodski at 3:00 p.m. Bill No. 23-24 Kyle Willis, City Controller with offices located on the 12th floor of the County-City Building, presented Bill No. 23-24. There are no new taxes being imposed or increases. This tax will expire June 20, 2024. Committee Chair opened the floor for Committee members to speak on this Bill. There was no one from the virtual audience expressing themselves to speak for or against Bill No. 23- 24. The floor was opened up to the Council for comments. Council member Hamann asked how this will impact on the sewage department. Eric Horvath, Executive Director of Public Works with offices located on the 13th floor responded that it doesn't increase taxes and anything that is generated has already been accounted for and will be going back to the State. There will be no impact on the sewage department. Committee member Lori Hamann asked if this Bill includes income taxes and property taxes. Mr. Willis responded income tax and sales tax.
