AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $127,044.00 FROM THE FEDERAL
ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE GENERAL
REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITY VEHICLES
WITHIN THE DEPARTMENTS OF NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT,
WEIGHTS & MEASURES, ENGINEERING, COMMUNICATIONS AND TRAFFIC
& LIGHTING.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Funds are needed for the purchase of vehicles within the depart-
ments of Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Weights & Measures , Engineering,
Communications and Traffic & Lighting. Monies are available with the
General Revenue Sharing Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . That the sum of $127,044 . 00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1986 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund commonly referred
to as The Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, to be administered by the Department
of Public Works and will be distributed as set forth below:

Re: Vehicle Purchases
Dear Councilmen:
The appropriation of $127 ,044 from Revenue Sharing is to
be used to fund vehicle replacements . Some of the Departments
included are Code Enforcement , Weights and Measures , Communica-
tions , Engineering and Traffic and Lighting . These vehicles
have been determined by the Vehicle Maintenance Department to
require maintenance and repairs totalling beyond the cars '
value to the City.
