Jefferson Blvd. South Bend, IN 46601 Dear Members of the Common Council : The Department of Public Parks is requesting that One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000.00) be appropriated out of the General Park Fund to supplement the 1986 park maintenance budget. I am requesting that One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000.00) be appropriated to Account # 01 .0399; Other Contractual Services, for the re-surfacing of the Leeper Park Tennis Courts. The tennis courts at Leeper Park are in poor condition and should be re-surfaced this year before the courts become unplayable. The Leeper Park tennis facility has been one of the finest tennis complexes in the midwest and to maintain this excellent facility the courts should be re-surfaced. The estimated cost is $115,000.00. A surplus in the General Park fund resulted from savings in the 1985 Park Maintenance Budget and higher than estimated revenues for 1985 I which funds revert back to the General Park Fund at the end of the calendar year. Your approval of this Ordinance is needed for the proper and efficient operation of the Department of Public Parks. Sincerely, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS - IJ mes R.
