AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA APPROPRIATING $68,000 WITHIN THE C.O.I.T FUND (FUND #404) FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ADMINISTERING EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING PROGRAMS THROUGH
THE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of C.O.I.T. Funds and to further the
implementation of employment counseling activities with the local Workforce Investment Board, certain
appropriations are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The sum of X68,000 is hereby appropriated and set aside within the C.O.I.T. Fund 404
beginning calendar year 2003 for the purpose of administering employment counseling programs through
the Workforce Investment Board.
Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

for the Workforce Investment Board for employment counseling activities. This amount
represents 3 grants: for at-risk youth; Latino youth; and laid-off workers.
