ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5, 500.00 FROM THE
MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of
Managers .
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it
is necessary for the operation of the Morris Civic Auditorium that
movie projection equipment and a communications system be purchased .
The Board of Managers has further determined that an estimated cost for
the purchase of such items is $5,500. 00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The amount of $5,500. 00 is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement
Fund to be used as follows :
ACCOUNT PURPOSE AMOUNT
Movie Projection Equipment $1,500. 00
Communications Equipment 4,000. 00
TOTAL $5, 500. 00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

RE: Morris Civic Auditorium Improvements :
Request for Ordinance
It is requested that you consider and give favorable approval
to the ordinance appropriating $5,500. 00 from the Morris Civic
Auditorium Improvement Account .
These user generated funds are to make improvements as follows :
a. $1,500 . 00 to purchase two (2) 35 mm movie projectors
and projection booth equipment . Our plan is to begin
a film series at the Morris to encourage families to
use the facilities to see old movie favorites during
our down times; more use of the facilities and heightened
income potential are the hoped for results .
b. $4,000. 00 to procure a communication system and its
installation from Executone of Northern Indiana, Inc .
for necessary and improved communication capability at
the Morris .
