AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35 ,000. 00 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT
R&S 8601 DESIGN ENGINEERING FOR TRAFFIC
SIGNALS AT JACKSON & MIAMI AND EWING &
IRONWOOD
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and
to provide for safe and efficient movement of vehicles , certain
improvements are necessary at the intersection of Jackson &
Miami and Ewing & Ironwood within the City of South Bend.
Funds are now needed to pay for the cost of the Design
Engineering portion of this project . These funds are available
from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
Section I : The following sum of money is hereby ordered
set apart from the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in
the amount set forth below:

Design Engineering for Traffic Signals at
Jackson & Miami and Ewing & Ironwood
Dear Councilmen:
We are requesting an appropriation of $35 ,000 . 00 from the
Local Road and Street fund to pay for the design of Traffic Signals
and Pavement widening at the intersections of Jackson & Miami and
Ewing & Ironwood Streets .
A traffic study had been previously conducted and indicated
signals were warranted.
The balance in the LRSA fund account after this appropriation
is $681 , 196 . 36 .
