Committee of the Whole Meeting
2013 South Bend Common Council
The February 18, 2013 meeting of the Committee of the Whole of the South Bend Common
Council was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Karen L. White, at 6:30 p.m. in
the Council Informal Meeting Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Scott, Henry Davis, Jr., Schey, Dr. Fred Ferlic,
Oliver J. Davis, Dieter, Gavin Ferlic, Dr. David Varner and Karen L. White; Pong Yin (Amy Le)
Le, Mr. Patric Richter, and Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member White noted a quorum was present.
Council Member White Stated that the purpose of this meeting was to interview all individuals
who filed a completed application for consideration to be appointed as a Council representative
to the Redevelopment Commission. Council Member Henry Davis, Jr., noted that he had
withdrawn his application for consideration, having given notice to the Chief Deputy City Clerk
last week. Council Member White asked that all Council Members who have applied for
consideration leave the meeting room, and that each applicant would be interviewed separately.
The Committee of the Whole then interviewed the following individuals separately: Council
Member Gavin Ferlic, Pong Yin (Amy Le) Le, Mr. Patric Richter, Council Member Valerie
Schey, and Dr. David Varner.
Council Member White noted advisory recommendations would be made at next Monday.
There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council Member
White adjourned the meeting at 7:18 p.m.
