2013 South Bend Common Council
The February 18, 2013 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Dr. Fred Ferlic, at 5:30 p.m.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Scott, Henry Davis, Jr., Schey, Dr. Fred Ferlic,
Oliver J. Davis, Dieter, Gavin Ferlic, and Karen L. White; Pong Yin (Amy Le) Le, Muhammed
Shabazz, and Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Dr. Ferlic noted that the Committee Members include Council Member Henry Davis., Jr. who is
the Vice-Chairperson, Oliver J. Davis, Gavin Ferlic and himself as Chairperson. A quorum was
present.
Dr. Ferlic stated that the purpose of the meeting was to interview candidates interested in being
appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission. The two (2) persons who filed applications,
Pong Yin (Amy Le) Le and Muhammed Shabazz were then called into the committee meeting and
interviewed separately, with each candidate being asked a series of questions.
Another Zoning and Annexation Committee meeting will be called for next Monday, February 25,
2013 for discussion; followed by a motion on an advisory recommendation from the Committee on
the candidates.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Dr. Ferlic adjourned the meeting at
5:52 p.m.
