GAMMON Approved and signed by me ,91-rakOi Th/ 4 19� I g l r ATiyor ORDINANCE NO. 7$-9 g-8'c AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $15,000.00 FROM THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR CLEANING AND TUCK-POINTING OF MASONRY AND TERRA-COTTA OF THE FACADE AND FOR PAINTING AND REGLAZING OF WINDOWS AND DOORS AT MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of Managers . The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it would be expedient and in the public interest to undertake cleaning and tuck-pointing of masonry and terra-cotta of the facade and for painting and reglazing of windows and doors at Morris Civic Auditorium. Money is available for this purpose in the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows : SECTION I. The amount of $15 ,000.00 is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund for a contract for cleaning and tuck- pointing of masonry and terra-cotta of the facade and for painting and reglazing of windows and doors at Morris Civic Auditorium. SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. L41, A =m•er o the Cmmon Counci CI \ HRY January 7 , 1986 TO: Members of the South Bend Common Council RE: Morris Civic Auditorium Improvements : Request for Ordinance It is requested that you consider and give favorable approval to the ordinance appropriating fifteen thousand dollars ($15, 000 . 00) from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Account . Seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7 ,500 . 00) will have been from a matching grant from the Broadway Theatre League, Inc . with the balance to be from the Improvement Account . These funds are to be used to clean and restore the masonry and terra cotta facade on the eastern portion of the Morris Auditorium. Not only will the facade improvements add to the attractiveness of the Morris facility, but they will assist us in keeping the facility fit for future use by the people.
