AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $13, 000. 00 FROM THE
MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of
Managers .
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it
is necessary for the operation of the Morris Civic Auditorium that the
stage decking and the orchestra pit cover be replaced and repaired and
that the movie projection and screening improvements be completed . The
Board of Managers has further determined that an estimated cost for the
purchase of such items is $13, 000. 00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The amount of $13, 000. 00 is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement
Fund to be used as follows :
PURPOSE AMOUNT
Stage Decking $9, 200. 00
Orchestra Pit Cover 800. 00
Completion of Projection Equipment 3, 000. 00
TOTAL $13, 000. 00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

RE: MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENTS:
REQUEST FOR ORDINANCE
It is requested that you consider and give favorable approval to the ordinance
appropriating $13,000.00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Account.
The Broadway Theater League has donated an amount of $7,500.00 to the
improvement account to assist us in installing a new floor deck for the stage
area. In addition, the orchestra pit cover will be redone as well as the
completion of the projection booth installation so we can offer a family film
series at the Morris.
