RE: Sewage Works (Wastewater) Bond Ordinance

The attached proposed ordinance authorizes the City to issue a bond anticipation note and revenue
bonds to fund certain additions and improvements to the municipal Sewage Works system of the City of
South Bend. The proposed bonds will be repaid from net revenues of the Sewage Works system and will
be issued in one (1) or more series, in an amount not to exceed thirty-six million dollars ($36,000,000).
I will present this bill to the Common Council at the appropriate committee and Council meetings. It is
requested that this bill be filed for 1st reading on October 9, 2023 with 2nd reading, public hearing and
3rd reading scheduled for October 23, 2023.
