CITY CLERK S,:..:..-.--RE: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF • SOUTH BEND ANNOUNCING THE FORMATION OF A REP ARA TORY JUSTICE COMMISSION AND THE MEM;BERS THEREOF Dear Chairperson White: Earlier this year, I committed to naming a commission to study the many aspects of reparatory justice and how it could apply to the City of South Bend. After considering many potential commission members, this resolution fulfills that commitment. This commission will operate independently of the Common Council. It will select its own chairperson and determine its own direction in the discussion of reparations and related matters in South Bend. It is expected that the commission will take whatever time is necessary to provide to the Common Council its written findings and any suggestions for possible future actions by the Common Council.
