RE: 2024 Mayor's Salary Ordinance
Dear President McBride:
Attached is an ordinance setting the Mayor's salary for the calendar year 2024. Under Indiana law, I.C. 36-4-7-
2(c), the Mayor's salary may not be reduced from the prior year's amount. This ordinance proposes an increase
for the Mayor's salary to be commensurate with the proposed increase for non-bargaining employees in 2024.
I will present this bill to the Common Council at the appropriate committee and council meetings. It is requested
that this bill be filed for 1st reading on September 25, 2023, with 2nd reading, public hearing and 3rd reading
scheduled for October 9, 2023. If you have any further questions or need additional information, please let me
