HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-23-08 Public Works & Property VacationPUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION JUNE 23, 2008 Committee Members Present: Councilmember's David Varner, Chairperson, Henry Davis Others Present: Councilmember Tim Rouse, Councilmember Karen White, Jeff Gibney, Michael Danch, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, John Voorde Councilmember David Varner, Chairperson, Public Works and Property Vacation Committee called the meeting to order at 3:36 p.m., and noted that this meeting is for information purposes only as there was no quorum present to make recommendation to full Council. Councilmember Varner recognized Mike Danch, a registered surveyor, to explain the request. Mr. Danch supplemented by Jeff Gibney explained this area's parcels were being assembled to create a marketable nano-technology park. Councilmember Varner asked about the boundaries of the "park." Mr. Gibney said he looked forward to the opportunity to outline the nano-technology park plans. Councilmember Tim Rouse expressed the need to be ready for future development opportunities. No quorum prevented a recommendation. BILL N0.40-08 ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION This bill requests an appropriation totaling $4,155,446 for various capital expenditures in 2008. Catherine Fanello, assisted by Mayor Luecke outlined the requests in detail using a handout attached to these minutes. The breakdown of funds drawn from included $1,367,508 from the General Fund, $1,000,000 from Major Moves, $140,000 from Local Road & Streets, $300,000 form MVH, $1,170,438 from Sewage Works, and $177,500 from the Water Capital Fund. No quorum resulted in no recommendation. BILL N0.41-08 CORRECTION ON APPROPRIATION The purpose of this bill is to make a technical bookkeeping correction to an appropriation bill passed last year. More specifically, the fund from which money was drawn for the Douglas SR 23 project should have been the Major Moves (#412) not the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund (#202) Catherine Fanello, made the informational presentation. Councilmember Karen White asked for a rundown on how much money was in the Major Moves Fund including interested earned. Councilmember Varner asked fora 2008 paving schedule. Catherine Fanello said she would provide both.
