Thank you Kimberly for the update. I will work on an updated aerial with the corrected parcel
boundary. As for the application, I dropped that off at the building department last Friday July
21. There is no signed contract since my husband and I are the owners and performing the
work ourselves. Let me me know how to pay the fee I can do that at your convenience.
In the meantime, for the HPC the privacy fence is cedar dog ear using premade 6ft tall x8ft
wide panels. See link to Home Depot.

Hello again!
We are okay going with your correct property lines that you found. We will need an
updated aerial view or drawing showing these correct lines and fence location, etc..
We need the completed application found here: https://southbendin.gov/wp-
content/uploads/2022/10/City-Residential-Fence-Permit-Application.pdf. Please also
provide for HPC what type, height, and materials of the fence you are wanting to erect;
feel free to just respond with that to this email address or Adam’s cc’d.

Subject: 834 Forest Ave Fence Permit - additional information
South Bend building Dept.:
RE: fence permit - 834 Forest Ave
I submitted a fence permit for this property on Friday July 21. Attached are three JPGs
of additional information requested.
An issue was identified in that the city’s parcel boundary, in relation to the aerial
imagery, shows the historic shed/garage to be partially in the south side alley.
However, we were able to locate the NE boundary pin in the east side (main) alley.
Measuring 50 ft from the NE pin puts the SE property corner at the SE corner of the
shed/garage. Given this information I believe the position of the GIS parcel boundary to
be off by a foot or so. This would position the south section of fence being requested
along the south edge of the property and not in the side alley.
Please review the attached supplemental information and let me know if anything
thing else if needed.
Thank you,
Brian Killen (applicant)
