The October 8, 2001 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Council Member James Aranowski at 3:40 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Coleman, Varner, White, Kirsits, Aranowski,
King, and Kelly; City Clerk Loretta J. Duda, Melvin Reed and Kathy Cekanski Farrand, Council
Attorney.
Council Member Aranowski noted that the only item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 75-01
which would set the annual salaries for the Mayor and the City Clerk for calendar year 2002.
City Clerk, Loretta J. Duda, made the presentation. She noted that the Mayor's salary is proposed
at $ 80,862 and that the City Clerk's salary is proposed at $ 43,804.00. She noted that both
salaries reflect a 4 % increase which is consistent with the increases for non-bargaining City
employees.
Following discussion, Council Member White made a motion, seconded by Council Member King
that Bill No. 75-01 be recommended favorably to Council.
The City Clerk added that she would consider freezing her salary for calendar year 2003.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member Aranowski
adjourned the meeting at 3:43 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member James Aranowski, Chairperson
Personnel and Finance Committee
