The October 22, 2001 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Council Member James Aranowski at 4:07 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Aranowski, Kelly, King, Varner, Coleman,
Ujdak and White; Robert Rosenfeld, Terry Bland of the oUt n tXtbUnM, and Kathleen
Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member Aranowski stated that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 99-01
which would amend § 20-67 of the South Bend Municipal Code.
Deputy City Attorney Robert Rosenfeld made the presentation. He noted that this bill would
clarify the penalty provision regarding parking tickets. Multiple parking in the same block is
prohibited and the new language clarifies this prohibition.
Following discussion, Council Member Varner made a motion, seconded by Council Member
King that Bill No. 99-01 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
Council Member Aranowski noted that he had received a letter requesting that Bill No. 100-01 be
continued until the November 26th Council meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member Aranowski
adjourned the meeting at 4:10 p.m.
