The September 19, 2001 Executive Session of the South Bend Common Council was called to
order by Council Vice-President James Aranowski at 4:07 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Varner, King, and Aranowski; City
Attorney Charles Leone and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member Aranowski noted that the Executive Session of the Council was called pursuant to
the Indiana state law which permits Executive Sessions for the purpose of receiving information on
the "initiation of litigation or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in
writing"which involves the City of South Bend.
Council Member James Aranowski, as Vice-President of the South Bend Common Council hereby
certifies that nothing was discussed in this Executive Sessions that was not properly posted in the
official"Notice of Executive Session"dated September 12,2001.
Council Member Aranowski adjourned the meeting at 4:32 p.m.
