The August 28, 2000 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was
called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 3:45 pm in the Council
Informal Meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Aranowski, Kelly,King, Varner, Ujdak,
and White;Travis Saunier and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member noted that the first item on the agenda Bill No. 64-00 regarding the
vacation of the first north/south alley east of Michigan Street has been requested by the Petitioner to
be continued until the September 25th meeting. (Letter from Steve Rudisell dated August 24th
attached).
The next item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 70-00 which is a vacation request for
the strip Chippewa of land 150' north of the southwest corner of Lot 165 in the Chi Heights Addition.

Dr. Varner noted that the Board of Public Works sends the request to the Council with a favorable
recommendation(copy attached).
Mr. Travis R. Saunier, an engineer with GPD Associates of Akron, Ohio, made the
presentation. He noted that the vacation is necessary for the rebuilding of the Taco Bell on Ireland
Road. The easement in question has been determined to be unnecessary by the Public Works
Department who recommended that it be vacated.
Following discussion, Council Member Aranowski made a motion, seconded by Council
Member King,that Bill No. 70-00 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned
by Dr. Varner at 4:50 p.m.
