WF..BER separation therefrom by said alley, and therefore it is desirous of having said alley abandoned and vacated by your honorable body so that said Lot 369 may become available and be used together with said Madison School premises as a unit for school uses and purposes. \ithout such abandonment and vacation said lot ·cannot be used advantageously either as a part of the school grounds of said Madison School nor as a building site for exten- sion of the Madison School facilities. TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC ,ORKS of the CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA; The undersigned, the School City of South Bend, Indiana, hereby represents to your honorable body that it has for many years past owned and been in possession of Lots Nos. 370, 371 and 372 in the Original Plat of the Town now City of South Bend; and that there has been for many years and now is located on said lots a brick school building, and that said lots and building are popularly known as the Madison School property. Said lots are bounded on the East by Lafayette Street, on the West by a north and south fourteen (14) foot alley, on the South by Madison Street, and on the North by an east and west fourteen (14) foot alley. The undersigned further represents that the School City recently acquired the lot located immediately north of the said east and west fourteen foo~ alley, which lot is Lot No. 369 in said plat, and is commonly known as the Elbel property. Each of said lots have a frontage of sixty-six (66) feet. Said east and west alley does not extend through from Lafayette Street to Wood Street, which is the first street west of said Lafayette Street , but terminates at its inter- section with said north and south alley. The undersigned further represents that said east and west alley does not adjoin any lots or property of any per- son other than said School City, and is not of public utility.
