Regular Meeting Minutes

Animal Welfare Commission Members Present: Dr. Mariah Covey, Pam Wesolowski, Christina Gerken,
Rebecca Strand and Barb Leavell
City Staff Present:Lindsay Cueller -SBARC Shelter Manager, Tom Panowicz-
Attorney for SBARC, and Kylie Connell- Attorney for
AWC , Marissa Frattini, and Pam Meyer-Chief
Neighborhoods Officer
1.The meeting was called to order by Dr. Covey at 1805 hours.
2.Minutes were approved with a motion made by Pam Wesolowski and seconded by Rebecca Strand.
3.Rebecca Strand stated her desire to step down from the Commission as of Ocobter 31, 2022.
4.Lindsey Cueller discussed shelter reports from September 2022.
A.SBARC had highest adoption rates seen in September of 2022.
B.The Commission went over the shelter reports.
C.Updates were given in recent cases.
I.Lattimore had more dogs despite what was decided by the Commission. Those dogs have
now been seized by SBARC.
D.Suggestions were made regarding how to get the word out about the ordinance and anything else
residents might have questions about regarding animal ownership.
5.The next hearing will be on October 13, 2022. With another possible hearing on November 10, 2022.
6.The next meeting will be on November 3, 2022 at 1800 hours.
