City Staff Present:Lindsay Cueller -SBARC Shelter Manager, Tom Panowicz-
Attorney for SBARC, and Marlaina Johns for Code
Enforcement
1.The meeting was called to order by Dr. Mariah Covey at 1805 hours.
2.Lindsay Cueller from SBARC discussed In Takes for the month of February 2021.
A.Lot of strays are not chipped so it is difficult to Return them to Owner (RTO).
3.The Commission’s Report to the City Council is due.
A.All Commission Members need to have input due to Covid and the suspension of meetings for a
short period of time.
B.The report should highlight SBARC education and programs in the future in South Bend.
C.Included in the report should be the financials, updates with regard to Code Enforcement and the
new ordinance that was recently finished.
D.The report needs to be turned into the Council by end of March beginning of April.
4.The Animal Welfare Commission asked that the ordinance move forward in the process,.
5.The meeting for the Commission will be April 8, 2021 at 1800 hours.
