Regular Meeting Minutes

Animal Welfare Commission Members Present: Rebecca Strand, Pam Wesolowski, and Barb Leavell
City Staff Present:Lindsay Cueller -SBARC Shelter Manager, Tom Panowicz-
Attorney for SBARC, and Kylie Connell - Attorney for
AWC, Marissa Frattini and Pam Meyer-Chief
Neighborhoods Officer
1.The meeting was called to order by Pam Wesolowski at 1815 hours.
2.A motion to approve minutes was made by Pam Wesolowski with a second by Rebecca Strand.
3.Lindsay Cueller discussed reports from April and May 2022.
A.Still down SBARC Officer but they are going through applications.
4.Commission discussed the necessity of filling the fifth empty spot on Commission.
A.A motion was made by Rebecca Strand with a second by Barb Leavell to have a letter sent to the
Mayor of the necessity.
5.A resolution was given to the Commission regarding meetings held virtually, but it was not voted on to
give members time to read it over.
6.Discussion was held as to whether another letter to the Mayor regarding the year 2021.
A.A motion was made whether a new letter will need drafted. Motion made by Barb Leavell with a
second made by Pam Weslowski.
7.Bite reports were discussed.
A.It was discussed how the Commission could see a bite report if the victim wouldn’t sign a
release.
B.Discussion about not necessarily needing names but how many times a victim was bitten and the
severity so the Commission would have that information during a hearing.
8.Discussion was raised regarding the Clerk to make sure Comssion was updated on dates they would be
needed.
A.It was also discussed that the Commission needs to let attorneys know if they cannot attend,
ahead of time if at all possible.
9.Next meeting scheduled for July 21, 2022 at 1800 hours.
