Utilities Committee

The August 23, 1999 meeting of the Utilities Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Council Member Sniadecki at 4:25 p.m. in the Council informal meeting
room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Coleman, Varner, Aranowski, Kelly,
Sniadecki, and King; John Byorni, Mike Beitzinger, Ann Kolata, Phil Faccenda, Terry
Bland, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Sniadecki noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No.
65-99 which is an ordinance addressing the construction of improvements at the Municipal
Waterworks facility, and which would authorize the issuance of revenue bonds not to
exceed two million fifty thousand doIIars
Mr. Faccenda,Jr., made the presentation. He noted that the bill would authorize a revenue
bond and would not involve a rate increase. Mr. Stancati would be present at the 7 p.m.
Council meeting to address any techinical questions on the measure. The project in
addition to a new building would also increase the city's water services to 12 million
gallons per day.
Council Member Varner inquired whether this matter was part of the Master Plan, and was
advised that it was by Mr. Faccenda.
Council Member King noted that the additional filtration is necessary in order to treat the
contaminants.
Council Member Sniadecki noted that since the Committee did not have a quorum, that no
formal action on the Bill could be taken. Bill No. 65-99 would be sent to the full Council
without recommendation.
Council Member Sniadecki adjourned the meeting at 4: 30 p.m.
