The October 26, 1998 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order
by its Vice-Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 5:15 p.m. in the Council
informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Varner, Coleman, Kelly,
Ujdak, Sniadecki and Pfeifer; Lewis Powell,Eugenia Schwartz, and Kathleen Cekanski-
Farrand.
Council President Coleman stated that Res. No. 98-153 which would adopt rules for
purchasing for the City of South Bend and Res. No. 98-154 which would promote the
purchase of supplies manufactured in the United States have been asked by the City
Administration to be continued until the Council meeting of November 9, 1998.
The Council Attorney noted that Mr. Stancoti has requested that Res. No. 98-156 which
would approve amendments to the rules and regulations of the South Bend Water Works be
continued indefinitely. She noted that since the proposed Resolution requests among other
things that fees be increased, that it must be in ordinance form with notice given to the
public of a public hearing.
There being no further business to come before the Committee,the meeting was adjourned.
