The October 12, 1998 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order
by its Chairperson, Council Member John Broden at 3:30 p.m. in the Council informal
meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Councilmembers: Aranowski, Varner, Broden, Coleman,
Kelly, and Pfeifer; Carl Littrell, Terry Bland, Robert Hunt, Eugenia Schwartz, and
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 84-98 which would appropriate $
89,639 from Project Releaf.
Carl Littrell made the presentation. He noted that the appropriation is necessary to fund the
leaf pick-up and disposal program. Funds for the program are generated by the $.18
charge on the water bill. The program will begin October 26th and run for six (6) weeks.
Forty (40) seasonal part-time workers will be hired for the program.
Following discussion, Council Member Aranowski made a motion, seconded by Council
Member Varner, that Bill No. 84-98 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion
passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee,the meeting was adjourned.
