Personnel and Finance Committee

The June 9, 1997 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by
its Chairperson, Council Member Sean Coleman at 4:50 p.m. in the Council informal
meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Pfeifer, Broden, Varner,
Ujdak, Coleman, Hosinski, Sniadecki; Ann Carol-Simons, Don Fozo, Terry Bland, and
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Coleman noted that the only item on the agenda was to review Bill No.46-
97 which would deleted various sections of the South Bend Municipal Code.
Ann Carol-Simons made the presentation. She made reference to the memorandum on
codification dated June 5, 1997 (copy attached). She noted that the city clerk and staff as
well as the council attorney and members of the legal department are on a special committee
to assist in the preliminary background information which must be done prior to the
codification of the entire South Bend Municipal Code.
Following further discussion, Council Member Varner made a motion, seconded by
Council Member Aranowski, that Bill No. 46-97 be recommended favorably to Council.
The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the committee the meeting was adjourned at
4:50 p.m..
