The September 8, 1997 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee
was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 5:00 p.m. in the
Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Ujdak, Varner, Coleman,
Pfeifer, Sniadecki,Broden and Hosinski;Terry Bland,Mike Beitzinger William and Sally
Grossnickle,John Peddycord and Kathy Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Varner noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 84-
97 which is a request to vacate an alley near Mishawaka Avenue. Mr. Peddycord, the
attorney for Mr. &Mrs. Grossnickle made the presentation. He noted that the vacation is
necessary to allow for additional parking spaces at Creative Teaching which is located at

2503 Mishawaka Avenue. He provided a plat map of the area in question(copy attached).

Dr. Varner noted that the Board of Public Safety has sent this request with a favorable
recommendation(copy attached).
Following discussion, Council Member Udjak made a motion seconded by Council
Member Broden that Bill No. 84-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion
passed.
There being no further business to come before the committee the meeting was adjourned at
5: 05 p.m.
