Public Works and Property Vacation Committee

The August 11, 1997 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was
called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 4:45 p.m. in the
Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Kelly, Ujdak, Varner,
Coleman, Broden, Pfeifer, and Hosinski; Carl Littrell, citizen member Amy Olson, Don
Porter,Mr. Paul Costello,and Kathy Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Varner noted that the City Clerk had received a request from the petitioner
for Bill No.71-97 that it be continued to the date of September 22, 1997(Copy Attached).
The committee then reviewed Substitute Bill No. 61-97 which is a petition to vacate an
East-West alley North of West Angela Blvd. Mr. Paul Costello made the presentation. He
noted that at the request of the City at the last Common Council Committee meeting,that
the legal description in the area had been rewritten to only effect his property. That legal
description had been included in the Substitute Bill along with a revised map of the area in
question.
Mr. Carl Littrell, acting City Engineer, spoke in favor of the proposed vacation.
Following further discussion, Council Member Aranowski made a motion seconded by
Council Member Broden that Substitute Bill No. 61-97 be recommended favorably to
Council. The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the committee the meeting was adjourned at
4:48 p.m.
