HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-14-96 Community & Economic Development tommftttt Ztpott: Community and Economic Development Committee 1go the COMM tOUittfl of tljt Qtiq of *out1j gtn : The October 14, 1996 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee was called to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room by its Chairperson, Councilmember Sean Coleman. Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Zakrzewski, Washington, Luecke, Pfeifer, Broden, Varner; Citizen Member Sue Hodgson, Earnest J. Szarwark, Mike Beitzinger,Don Porter and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrnand. Councilmember Colemen noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Resolution No.96-97 which is a personal Property Tax Abatement Request for the property located at 1702 West Washington Street. Mr. Mike Beitzinger reviewed the memorandum dated October 7, 1996, (Copy Attached) which found that the petitioner meets the requirements for five-year personal Property Tax Abatement. Mr. Ernie Szarwark the attorney for Manufacturing Technology Inc. then made a further presentation. r Zakrzewski made a motion seconded b Following discussion, Councilmember by Councilmember Luecke that Resolution No. 96-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. Mr. Beitzinger noted that Mr. John Riggs would be making the presentation this evening on Resolution 96-96 regarding the confirming resolution for Elumatec USA Inc.. Mr. Coleman noted that a general power of attorney had been filed (Copy Attached). Councilmember Coleman also noted that Bill No. 51-96 regarding tax Abatement Procedures would be heard at the meeting of October 28, 1996 in light of continued research being done by the Community and Economic Development Department at the request of the Council Attorney and the Assistant City Attorney. There being no further items to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned at 5:08 P.M.
