Assistant City Engineer SUBJECT: Agenda Request - Reject Bids and Request to Advertise 121-046 WWTP Compressor Building Masonry Improvements PR-00018587 DATE: October 17, 2022 On September 13, 2022 the Board of Public Works received, opened and entered into record public bids for Project No. 121-046 WWTP Compressor Building Masonry Improvements. Attached is the Bid Tabulation provided by Kil Architecture regarding the pricing for the subject project. After reviewing the bids, it was determined that the two bids received were higher than the Architect’s estimate and the City’s budget for the subject work. Ziolkowski submitted a complete bid, ranking second in price. Slatile Roofing & Sheet Metal, the apparent low bidder, did not submit the required MBE and WBE forms required for the bid submittal. Therefore, Slatile Roofing & Sheet Metal’s bid package was determined to be a non-responsive bid. The Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities recommend that the Board of Public Works reject all bids received for the subject project since all bids received exceeded the available budget for the project. The Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities will review the Bid Plans and Bid Specifications with Kil Architecture and Planning in a effort to revise the scope of work and readvertise the project for public bids. We request that the Board of Public Works approve a request to advertise for the subject project. Engineering and Utilities would like to readvertise as early as October 28, 2022 or November 4, 2022 with a revised Bid Package.
