26 of the St. Joseph County Code.
The issuance of this certificate does NOT in any manner, release
the recipient from the responsibility of complying with the requirements
of the zoning ordinances, building codes, safety codes, ADA or other
requirements of the City of South Bend, the County of St. Joseph, the
State of Indiana, or the United States Federal Government.
This certificate is good for one year from the date of issuance and
is effective from the date entered herein. Plans are on file and open for
public inspection at the office of the Historic Preservation Commission of

I.Written Description of Project
The St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker community would like to install a level 2 electric vehicle
charging station on the south side of their building, located at 515 South Saint Joseph Street.
The side of the building is in good condition and can easily support the charging station, which
weighs thirteen pounds. It will be powered by a fifty amp circuit from the two hundred amp
panel, which is located in the basement of the building. The charger dimensions are 9 x 5.3 x
19.7 inches. Due to the bay window on the street-facing side of the building, the charger will not
be visible from the road. All relevant permits will be acquired by Alan Michael McDonald,
contractor for this project.
II.Overview of Project
One fifty-amp circuit will be installed to power the charger, (a ClipperCreek HCS-50, 40A, L2
EVSE, 240V, w/25 ft cable). Materials will include a fifty-amp breaker and sixty feet of number
six conductor wire. The electrical contractor will pull the circuit from one side of the house
through the basement. The contractor will make a hole in the side of the house (1.25 inches in
diameter) and will terminate the cable inside the charging unit. The hole will not be visible. The
charger will be weatherproofed to prevent water damage.
