Public Works and Property Vacation Committee

The November 13, 1995 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation
Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Ann Puzzello at 4:40
P.M.in the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Puzzello, Luecke, Kelly,
Zakrzewski, Duda, Washington, Slavinskas, Coleman, and Ladewski; Jeff Rinard, John
Leszczynski,John Oxian,John Byorni,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The item to be reviewed by the Committee was Bill No. 64-95 which would
appropriate$141,972.00 from Project Relief.
Mr.Jeff Rinard made the presentation. He provided a handout addressing cash projections
(copy attached). He noted that this is an annual appropriation and that there should be an
approximate cash balance of$30,000.00 projected at that end of the year.
Council President Ladewski questioned whether the fee should be increased and
Mr. Rinard stated that it should be reviewed.
In response to a question raised by Council Member Puzzello, John Leszczynski
noted that the program is to end the first week in December. He noted that 2/3 of the City
has been addressed twice to date to date.
Council Member Coleman questioned the hourly rates of $6.25 per hour. Mr.
Leszczynski stated that this is the best year ever with regard to consistency of employees.
He did not believe that an increase was needed.
Mr.Leszczynski also noted that the present leaf vacuum equipment should last for
approximately 5 to 7 years with no replacements need for that period of time.
Following discussion, Council Member Kelly made a motion. seconded by Council
Member Zakrzewski that Bill No. 64-95 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 4:50 P.M.
