The September 11, 1995 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation
Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Ann Puzzello at 4:00
P.M.in the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Puzzello, Luecke, Kelly,
Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Coleman, and Ladewski; Bill Eagan, Ann Kolata, Don Porter,
and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Puzzello noted that the only item on the agenda was to review Bill
No. 45-95 which is a proposed vacation of the second north-south alley west of south
Carroll Street.
Ann Kolata made the presentation. She noted that the alley in question is in the
middle of disposition parcel number 34.The total area in question including the alley site is
1.04 acres.
It was noted that the Board of Public Works sent a favorable recommendation dated
September 11, 1995 (copy attached).
Ms. Kolata further noted that the property in question once vacated would be used
to relocate a business currently operating in Roseland, IN commonly known as Champion
Soft Water. In response to a question raised by Council Member Coleman, it was noted
that this is the second party interested in the parcel.
Following discussion, Council Member Kelly made a motion, seconded by Council
Member Zakrzewski that Bill No. 45-95 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 4:10 P.M.
