SUBJECT: Budget Request (Coal Line Multiuse Trail Construction)

PURPOSE OF REQUEST:
Staff requests the Redevelopment Commission's approval of an additional $300,000 to be
budgeted for construction of the Coal Line Trail Phase II (between Riverside Drive and IN 933)
based upon bids that were recently received through INDOT.
This request should allow completion of construction of Phase II in 2023 with two concurrent
projects, one including the trail plus amenities and a second including the river bridge crossing.
Phase I project construction (Lincoln Way West to Riverside Drive) is complete and will be
closed out this fall.
